Ride 'em cowboy!

This picture cracks me up. I'm not even sure how I have a picture of it, the camera must have been next to me by some miracle (probably so that when I'm way bugged with these two I can remember this funny moment). So Elsie was just lying on her stomach playing with a Barbie by herself. Addie comes in out of no where and plops down on Elsie's back (as shown) and starts riding her like a horse while making this "dun dun dun" sound (William Tell overture music). Elsie's face sort of captures the confusion she felt. She simply said, "Uh Addie...what are you doing?". I was cracking up and am as I type this. These girls are so funny!

Tulip Bulbs

Two, maybe three Saturdays ago I planted tulip bulbs. I LOVE tulips. My process started here...

Actually it started here the night before...

Some of the neighborhood girls tilled my flower beds. What helpers. Actually, the older girls came over and totally pulled all the weeds, raked and swept when finished. It was amazing!

Now we wait and cross our fingers that they bloom come Spring. Yipee for Tulips!

18 months Addie Mae!

Addie is 18 months. Go Ads!

Some stats from Addie's 18 month appointment:
Weight: 24 lbs. 4 oz. = 49%
Height: 32 inches = 61%
Let me preface, the below info. is more for our "family history" so if you don't want to read about how great Addie is go ahead and just enjoy the pictures.
  • Every time Addie answers in the affirmative it is always "sure". Not yes, or an affirmative head nod but "sure".
  • Addie has some ice cream jammas and when she wears them to bed she says "ice cream" and puts her head down and pretends to eat the ice cream.
  • When we all sit down for dinner she puts her hands together and squints her eyes letting us know she's ready to pray.
We love Addie

Bath time fun

The other night I am working in the office and I hear from the girls' bathroom, "Jen, will you please bring me the camera?" That would be Tyler aka "bath time funmiester". Bath time is not fun with mom, it never has been. I'm a get in, get washed and get out kind of mom. For the girls' sake, it's a good thing Tyler has been in charge of bath time since Elsie was a baby otherwise we would never have pictures like these.

Just as side note, Elsie could stay in the bath and shower forever. She likes to jump in the shower with me (even though she took a bath the night before). I usually just leave her in there while I get ready and then she gets out when I'm done (who knew the shower was such a great babysitter!) So she has this Little People boat and a fake snake that she plays with in the shower...snake...I know. Well when I went to get her out the other day, I noticed she had the boat filled with water and white stuff. I looked next to the boat and there was my bottle of face wash and my bottle of foot scrub. Elsie had made soup for the snake. Yea for imagination! Yea for the most expensive soup a snake ever ate!

Landscaping...the worst is behind us

Our landscaping so far. I am going to plant tulip bulbs in a week or two and hopefully this weekend do some transplanting of some perennials. Other than that, we are done until Spring. Here is also a preview of our exterior shutters. Tyler did a great job. They look so great in person. Two more windows to go (for now).
It all started in July with the sprinkling system. YUCK!!! If you can avoid putting in your own sprinklers in DO IT!
Laying sod on the other hand...no big deal. It was actually fun.
We had some darling pictures of Addie in the mud but they are still on our dead PC desktop :( Speaking of which...does anyone know how to get everything off the hard drive?
